QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Payroll support in Waldorf, MD
Setup that fits the business, a file that can be trusted, and someone who answers when it misbehaves. Amy Guiriansoro is an Advanced Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor in both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Payroll.
Chapter 01
QuickBooks Online set up to fit the business
A new QuickBooks file will accept almost anything you put into it, which is exactly the problem. Set up with default categories and no plan, it fills with accounts that overlap and income that lands in the wrong place, and the reports built from it are guesses.
Setup starts with a conversation about how the business really earns and spends. From that comes a chart of accounts sized to you: enough detail to answer your real questions, not so much that every receipt becomes a decision. Bank and card feeds are connected, rules are written so routine transactions categorise themselves, and customers, vendors and products are entered once and consistently.
A nonprofit gets its own treatment, with funds or classes set up so spending can be reported against programs. The aim is a file you could hand to anyone and they would understand it.

Fixing a file and setting up QuickBooks Payroll
Inherited files and files kept by someone enthusiastic but untrained are common. Typical trouble is duplicate transactions, accounts that will not reconcile, a long list of uncategorised items, or opening balances that no longer match the bank. Amy works through these in order, finds why the numbers disagree, corrects them, and tells you what she changed and why.
QuickBooks Payroll setup deserves the same care, because a payroll mistake touches real people. Employees, pay schedules, deductions, tax details and payment methods are entered and checked before the first run goes out. If payroll is already running and something is off, such as a wrong item on a pay stub or a setting that was never finished, it can be traced and corrected.
Where the work is bigger than a fix, a bookkeeping cleanup or ongoing monthly bookkeeping picks up from there.
Chapter 03
Remote sessions by appointment
Everything is done virtually. You book a time, share your screen or grant access to your QuickBooks file, and Amy works through the problem with you or on your behalf. There is no travelling and no waiting for an on-site visit, whether you are in Waldorf, White Plains, Bethesda, Silver Spring or Washington, DC.
Some owners want to be walked through a task so they can do it themselves next time. Others would rather hand it over and receive a finished result. Both are fine. Sessions are held by appointment, and a short consultation first is the easiest way to say what is wrong and agree what comes next.
